All this combined with the desire to excell academically.  Most unusual and well worth remembering. 

bio: As the math above indicates I became an instant full time Mom on date of wedding.  Pete's children were 1+ and 2+ at the time and Gwynne came along a few years later.  So.... the first several years were spent doing things all mothers do, to include additional new experiences like learning to drive tractors with the various attachments, put up fencing for horses, cattle, etc. and follow instructions without questioning from my banker/farmer/mechanic extraodinaire.  Finally, when the youngest went away to school I entered the grownup world and had an interesting position in a local law firm.  Retired from that at about age 63 and am now back on the farm reveling in nature and vigorously fighting the power lines which are attempting to destroy our countryside.  Also involved in various volunteer organizations, gardening, travel when possible and my new obsession, watercolors(no talent but lots of enthusiasm.)

retire: Take advantage of every healthy moment.  My husband has developed macular degeneration and it has taken a vicious toll
