memory: I liked just about every aspect of going to a small school, in a small town, in the '50's. I particularly enjoyed playing football for Coach, Canteen and "Rock 'n Roll," and just plain "hanging out" as a teenager. I even have fond memories of some of the teachers.

bio: Joyce and I married after college graduation. I did a tour in the Marine Corps, and after that we've spent most of our time on an old farm in Vermont. For the last 12 years we've "wintered" on the South Carolina coast. I keep active physically - working out, biking, hiking, kayaking, gardening etc. I love to read and am addicted to Crossword puzzles

retire: I retired quite young and have never had a moment's regret about doing so. I don't care much for the modern euphemisms such as "senior citizen." Although I don't "feel" or probably "act" my age, I would prefer to be regarded as an "Old Fogy" or perhaps, "Old F___."  Ogden Nash said it best, "What is the secret of the trick. How did I get so old so quick?"
