jobs: Elementary and middle school teacher
memory: It was a long time ago and I am getting elderly and foolish. However, it all was good, except for, maybe, geometry class.
bio: I currently live in Buckeye, AZ, the empty quarter of the western Phoenix area desert in Festival Sun City. I play golf (not well but enthusiastically), read, travel, visit Laguna Beach, and Costa Mesa where Jason and Karen and their families live, play bridge and Mah Jongg, feed family and friends. Love the life style, hate the heat...horrible. I moved here because my youngest son, David and his family live in Surprise, AZ. They are soon moving to either Texas or California. Who knows where I will be next year?
My friend, Mark, and I travel a lot, are very involved with our children and grandchildren. My Mom is living, age 95, in Ft. Myers, Florida. We visit her, my sister and her family in Umatilla, Floria, and my brother, Mahlon and his family, in Pastakala, Ohio. My youngest brother (55 years old!) works in Saudi Arabia and comes home twice a year when the whole family gathers in Florida for golf, food and fun. Those who don't come are definitely subject to gossip and black mail.
The past two years I have spent a great deal of time in Indianapolis with my son, Brian and his fiance, Kathy Inomata. Brian experienced accumulative heart problems as a result of chemo and radiation therapy for non-hodgekins lymphona in 1992 when he was a senior in med school. The heart failure necessitated a heart transplant at Memorial Hospital in Indy. He died April 27, 2009 from complications. . The pain, the loss. Does one recover?
retire: Family and friends mean everything in the end. I like the idea of spending all one's money before dieing and having the last check to the undertaker bounce.
My watch words: grace, honor, and love. I'd like to strive for dignity but not having achieved much so far, hope is fading.
